Caesarea Maritima!

This place wasn't just fun and games... although it was indeed fun and games as you'll see in the next post, it was where Paul was imprisoned and they found evidence of Pontius Pilate's existence.

The remainder of Herod's Temple (where Paul was imprisoned).

The ruins of Herod's fresh water swimming pool on the beach.

The chariot race track!

Our feet in the Mediterranean.

Panaromic of Nazareth...

Nazareth below!

From the same spot, you have a view of Valley of Armageddon. This is where it will all "go down!"

Tony's Twinkie!

Classic!

The Mount of Transfiguration...

Here is the church built where they believe that the Transfiguration occurred.

A beautiful church... it was a cool time to just be able to connect with that story in a different way.

BFF's!

Isaac still didn't know it, but we were indeed BFF's! I posed like this without him knowing it for a photo, but by the time the camera was in place, he realized it... and embraced it. We've got each other's back! :O)

Atop a mountain...

That is the road to Nazareth... and has been since Jesus' day. Jesus more than likely walked that very road!

The rest of the photos that we took from atop this mountain are beautiful, but have no story to tell. We just liked them and are sharing them with you. Aren't we nice?!

Jesus feeds 5,000!

The next morning, we went to the site where Jesus fed the 5,000!

The Sea of Galilee!

We did a short cruise on the Galilee on the only Christian owned boat on the Sea. The boat was named Faith and we rocked some worship songs on the Sea that Jesus walked on.

Here is the crew after we came in from our cruise.

After the cruise, we stopped in to see the "Jesus" boat. This boat was preserved in mud for they believe over 2,000 years. This boat was around when Jesus was!

After the Jesus Boat, most of us had a go at walking on water. All of our efforts were most sincere, but came up short. We had a blast!

Sermon on the Mount!!!

The church on the right there sits right over the spot they believe Jesus taught the sermon on the mount! This is only a 20 minute walk away from Capernaum!

The church has since leased the land in the natural ampitheater below it... where they believe Jesus taught to some banana tree farmers! Or else we would have been able to go down there. Don't get me started. At any rate, the area between the church and that gray strip is where it all went down! Awesome!!!

Here is a picture of what it looked like prior to the banana grove.

Capernaum the town of Jesus.

See, I told you!

This is the synagogue where Jesus began his ministry! Crazy!

Under that octagonal shaped set of ruins there, they found the wall of a house with a stone that had "Pietra" inscribed on it. That is Peter's house! Where Jesus stayed! (The gray beam over it is a Catholic church built over it with a glass floor to look down on it... pretty cool.)

Baptized in the River Jordan!

This is the spot along the River Jordan where Bek and I got baptized together!

Matt, Mikey, and Nathan doing the honors. Mikey married us and baptized us!

Pretty awesome!

On the way to the Sea of Galilee!

This photo was taken near Qumran (where the Dead Sea scrolls were found)!!!

The gold dome that you can barely see in the middle of the photo is where "they" say that Jesus was baptized by John!

The river Jordan with Jordan (the country) in the behind it...

Bek and Amanda chilling on the bus... where they stayed and napped during our next stop...

the nature reserve... not too exciting, but this photo is sort of cool. :O)

My Buddy the Rock Badger...

This little guy knows how to pick good friends...

He walked straight to me...

This is him about a foot away from me (you can see some of my shadow in the lower left there).

I was about to pet him when all these kids came and started to spook him a bit.

Pretty fun!

P.S. My hat is like that only because I was taking photos... and I'm cool like that. :O)

Ice, Ice, Baby...

All Right,

Collaborate, and Listen...

Ice is back with my brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
flows like a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop? Yo -- I don't know
Turn off the lights and I'll glow
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.

David's Waterfall

This is David's waterfall... where he and his crew hung out while Saul was trying to hunt him down.

Bekah and Danielle after conquering the very easy hike to the waterfall. :O) They are tough though... for sure!

In one of the caves in the background was where David could have killed Saul when Saul was hunting him down. Crazy!

Masada!

Mikey and Eddie... what are you doing back there?

Us on Masada with the Dead Sea in the background...

Adam and I...

One of the oldest synygogues in the world.

The ruins of the Roman camp during the siege.

Team Sandals learning about the ramp...

The ramp... the Romans took 6 months to build that ramp in order to defeat the last Jewish stronghold in 73 A.D.

The warehouses where Herod stored all his food... enough food to last a VERY long time. The water system he had built here was amazing! Herod was super paranoid (probably because made so many enemies), but he sure was a great builder!
